Thotake Hogo Thimma (ತೋಟಕೆ ಹೋಗೋ ತಿಮ್ಮ ) Lyrics

My kid is very fond of Kannada Rhymes, though we have CDs for English and lot of videos that could be downloaded, while teaching I feel that lyrics are definitely helpful.

Small attempt to translate meaning of the poem into English ::-

This is the story of a small boy named ‘Thimma’ in the form of a rhyme… One can teach their kids in any suitable convenient way or raaga.. This rhyme is a conversation between Thimma and his mother.. Whatever task his mom tells him to do, Thimma gives a very sweet excuse to that and ensures that he doesnt even attempt that task 😉 😛

Meaning stanza wise::-

* When his mom asks him to go to garden, he says he is scared of wolf over there.. * When his mom asks him to graze cows, he says cow will bully him.. * When his mom asks him to switch on stove for cooking, he says it might burn his fingers
* When his mother asks him to write lessons, he gives an excuse that chalk is over.. *When asked to bring water from well- he says his hands are aching, *When asked to bring cooking pan- he says legs are paining.. Finally if called for lunch he is ready without any excuses…

My daughter loves this rhyme a lott…. This rhyme holds good for all kids and it is dedicated to all kids.. 🙂

Hence below is an attempt to write Thotake Hogo Thimma Lyrics::

Lyrics in kannada ::
